On the road again...
making new friends and meeting cowboy heroes on the
2006 Wyoming High Country Trail Ride by Cindy K. Roberts

Calamity Pat (a.k.a. Hot Pants) and I left for the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming.   We took a couple of "test" rides first to make sure that we were not going to kill each other while on this trip.  That was when Calamity decided that getting back on estrogen would be a good thing for her.  I decided that packing Baha Bob's Sugar-Free Margarita mix might be helpful for me.

Some minor mishaps included: losing a hay-bag along the Missouri interstate somewhere; losing a step stool somewhere in the Mid-West; losing the sewer hose to the LQ somewhere in Wyoming (icccck!) What a mess...every time a motorist honked, waved and pointed to the back end, we nodded, smiled and waved back. There were brave attempts made by Calamity to make the necessary repairs done in the night with duct tape otherwise known as "Virginia Chrome" (by our southern friends) and bailing twine.  When I head for the mountains...I really mean HEAD FOR THE MOUNTAINS.

First, we stopped off in Cheyenne to enjoy Frontier Days. We shopped like we were deprived of the finer things in life.  Then we rode the bull for at least 8 seconds and shot the bull for 2 days.  After we managed to stay on long enough for a photo, we climb off the bull and Calamity stumbled down the ladder.  (So much for impressing the crowd that afternoon.)

I think that bull took a liking to us, he had such a "kind" eye.

We make it to the Bighorn Mountains and we are pleased that
our duct tape repair job is holding up quite nicely.  We may have to write
a book on "How To Make LQ Repairs With Duct Tape While On The Road".
Instead, I decided to write my next book titled: "The Margarita Trail: A Tale About 2 Desperate Cowgirls In Search For Adventure In Wyoming".

Calamity and I took advantage of some "down" time in camp.  We rounded up these good lookin' cowboys for a Every Cowgirl's Dream Calendar Photo Shoot.  Not one guy asked how much they would get paid for their picture being taken.  We had such a good turnout that we wound up with a 27 month calendar.  Those guys were such good sports.  (Please make note of our set director -- without him we could not have put this thing together.)

During the middle of our trip, Calamity and I decided we brought too much stuff with us, so we had a camp yard sale.  A special thanks to Don Holmes for coming to our yard sale and purchasing our "dirty laundry"...it made our trip back home so much easier.

Thanks to everyone for helping with my audio recording for my friend Rozy Klug.  She was pleased that we included her in our trip for the entire week.  Thank you for helping us with the audio project.  THANKS FOR PUTTING UP WITH US.  Cindy K.
